In-person and online tuition

1:1 tailored tuition programmes

We offer Supplementary and Alternative Provision 1:1 tuition programmes, both online and in-person tailored to the student’s needs. Our Operations Team matches the student with a tutor who can best meet their needs, manages the delivery of our programmes and provides ongoing support throughout.

In person tuition

In person tuition is a good option for students who may be unable or reluctant to work with a tutor online. Our tutors work with students in person at a variety of settings including; homes, schools, libraries, community centres, youth clubs and other community venues.

Some student's learning needs and preferences mean they benefit from the in-the-room presence of the tutor being there with them, and also the kinaesthetic learning activities the tutor can undertake. In person tuition also has the potential to facilitate learning walks and educational visits, reinforcing the learning that is taking place in real world situations.

Online tuition

Online tuition allows learning to take place on an interactive, resource-rich platform, and for students to access hundreds of tutors across the country (not just those who happen to live nearby). This allows us to provide expert, well-matched tutors for students, wherever they or the tutor may be located, and enables the tuition relationship to continue, even if the student or tutor moves. Our tutors are excellent at providing personable, bespoke and interactive sessions for students online, and this method often provides the student with a greater sense of autonomy and ownership over their learning.

Secure online learning environment

Our online tuition is delivered via Zoom through licensed Zoom Pro accounts, managed by Equal Education to ensure a secure learning space. This provision allows uninterrupted tuition over any required session length, and provides access to all the interactive features that enrich online tuition.

In accordance with our safeguarding and quality assurance processes, and best practice within the sector, all online sessions are recorded, and the footage stored securely for 30 days, where it is then securely deleted.

We recognise that effective online tuition is achieved through cooperation between Equal Education, clients, tutors, students, carers/parents and school, and our staff support all parties throughout the tuition journey. We also provide training for our tutors, as part of our Tutor Community training events, to develop the skills and capabilities for online tuition, and champion online safety.
